1.  What is the mission or purpose of WYBA?

 Our mission is to develop Lititz youth baseball talent to be premier high school players.

2.  What league do players complete in?

Our teams participate in the Lancaster County Youth Baseball League.  This league mirrors our High School LL League configuration with modifications that are needed for scheduling purposes.  This league averages a total of 120+ teams between three different age levels.

3.  How far do teams travel?

Teams travel within the Lancaster County Area for league play.  With a home and away schedule, half of our games travel under an average radius of a 30 min. or less.

4.  What is the competition like?

The Lancaster County Youth Baseball League offers different levels of competition within each age classification.  Age classifications are broken down into two year increments, including 10U, 12U, and 14U.  WYBA desires to enter a Section 1 and Section 2 team at each age classification.  Following evaluations by qualified staff, we appropriately place player talent at the level (Section 1 or 2) they will optimally grow.  

We believe that in order to develop players, they need to compete while having fun against quality talent that matches their ability.  Players will complete, network, and learn to build relationships with other teams they will grow closer to entering High School.  

5.  Who do players play with?

Most select teams play with talent around the county and beyond.  Playing with WYBA provides the opportunity for your child to play with teammates that live within the Warwick School District.  This fosters the ability to develop strong relationships over the progression of their youth playing experience.

6.  Where do players feed into?

Our program is the pipeline for our High School baseball team.  Warwick Varsity Head Coach Bill Weismandel has endorsed our program as being the location where players can develop appropriately and be prepared to make the transition to High School baseball starting in 9th grade. 

WYBA also offers a 17U team for our HS players to continue developing their baseball skills. 

7.  Where are our home fields located?

Our fields are located at the Warwick Township complex.  There are three fields surround the complex which creates a great atmosphere for our players, families, and program.  

8.  Are coaches paid?

We recognize that all coaches are human and make mistakes.  We pride ourselves in placing qualified coaches that can voluntarily donate their time and energy to lead their team and families to a successful and rewarding experience.  All board positions are unpaid and aim to serve our players, families, and community in a responsible manner.  

9.  Do teams participate in tournament play?

WYBA assesses the talent level of each team fielded.  We offer the chance to compete locally and as appropriate beyond the Lancaster County region.  We believe that allowing players the experience of playing different talent as well as facing better competition will prepare them for future challenges during their High School career.

10.  Are there playoffs?

Every level of play has some form of playoffs.  Our organization balances developing players while still enjoying the spirit of competition.  Playoff formats appropriately change with each age classification.
